Why monitor Zalando’s prices
Zalando is one of Europe’s largest online fashion retailers: clothing, footwear, sportswear and accessories. In fashion it is easy to find the same item from the same brand in several shops, and seasonal sales move a lot of prices at once.
Boardfy matches your products with their Zalando listings and checks Zalando’s price every 6 hours in Spain and Germany, with or without delivery costs, as you prefer. Every 30 minutes, Boardfy applies your rules and sends the price changes to your shop or your ERP.

Monitoring
The same product on Zalando Spain and Germany
Zalando’s price can vary from one country to another. If you sell in both, Boardfy shows you Zalando’s price in each country for the same product and the difference from yours.
If you have a separate shop for each country, you can set each country’s price separately. It is Boardfy’s competitor monitoring applied to Zalando.
Pricing intelligence
Your catalogue against Zalando, by price band
Boardfy sorts your catalogue into bands by how far your price is from Zalando’s: from the products where you are more than 10% cheaper to those that are more than 10% dearer. Products Zalando doesn’t sell are shown separately.
So you can see whether your problem is a few items priced well above Zalando or many that are slightly dearer, which call for different rules.

Price history
Zalando’s markdowns, week by week
Boardfy keeps your price history, so you can see when Zalando marks an item down, by how much and where the price settles afterwards. In this example, Zalando cut the jacket from €129.95 to €89.95 and today sells it at €109.95.
The history helps you tell a seasonal sale from a price cut that sticks.

Dynamic pricing
Example: a rule against Zalando
You sell a padded jacket at €119.95 including VAT, it costs you €65 excluding VAT, and Zalando sells it in Spain at €109.95. Your rule says “€1 below Zalando with a minimum margin of 15%”, with the margin calculated on the selling price excluding VAT (21% VAT in Spain).
Boardfy works out that at €108.95 you undercut Zalando and keep a 27.8% margin, so it changes your price. If Zalando dropped to €79.95 in a sale tomorrow, Boardfy would not go below €92.53, your minimum price. This is what Boardfy’s dynamic pricing does.

Sales and margin in fashion
When to follow Zalando and when not to
In fashion, sales come round every season and not all of them deserve a response. These are the most common situations and what Boardfy does in each one according to your rules.
| Situation | What Boardfy does | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Zalando marks down an item you sell for more | Lowers your price to just below Zalando, if your margin allows | You undercut Zalando |
| Following the sale would take you below your minimum margin | Stays at your minimum price | You don’t drop below your margin to follow a sale |
| Zalando ends the sale and raises its price | Raises your price again to what your rule sets | You win back the margin you had given up |
| Zalando doesn’t sell the product | Raises the price according to your rule | With no Zalando price to match, you can win back margin |
