How Boardfy monitors Continente’s prices
Continente, part of the Sonae group, is Portugal’s largest supermarket and hypermarket chain and sells online on continente.pt: groceries, household goods, homeware and appliances. If you sell those products to Portuguese shoppers, Continente’s price is a benchmark worth keeping in view, especially in groceries, where margins are tight.
Boardfy matches your products with their continente.pt listings and checks Continente’s price every 6 hours, with or without delivery costs, as you prefer. Boardfy does not change prices on Continente: every 30 minutes it applies your rules and sends the price changes to your shop, platform or ERP.

Monitoring
Your price and Continente’s, product by product
For each product you both sell, Boardfy shows you Continente’s price, yours and the difference as a percentage.
In groceries a few cents matter a lot: you see straight away where Continente sells for less than you and where you are the cheapest. It is Boardfy’s competitor monitoring applied to Continente.
Pricing intelligence
Your catalogue against Continente, by price band
Boardfy sorts your catalogue into bands by how far your price is from Continente’s: from the products where you are more than 10% cheaper to those that are more than 10% dearer, plus the ones Continente doesn’t sell.
With that view you know where you can raise the price and still be cheaper, and where the gap is so wide that shoppers go to Continente.

Price history
Continente’s promotions, week by week
Boardfy stores every check, so you can see when Continente puts a product on promotion, how much it cuts the price and when it returns to its usual price. In the example, Continente cut the olive oil from €9.49 to €7.99 for two weeks, went back to €9.49 and today sells it at €8.99.
With that history you can tell a promotion from a price change that is here to stay, and decide whether to follow it.

Dynamic pricing
A rule against Continente, from start to finish
You sell a 1-litre bottle of extra virgin olive oil at €9.49 including VAT, it costs you €7.20 excluding VAT, and Continente sells it at €8.99. Your rule says “one cent below Continente with a minimum margin of 10%”, with the margin calculated on the selling price excluding VAT (in mainland Portugal, olive oil carries the reduced rate of 6%).
Boardfy works out that at €8.98 you undercut Continente and keep a 15.0% margin, so it changes the price in your shop. If Continente put it on promotion tomorrow at €7.99, Boardfy would not go below €8.48, your minimum price. This is how Boardfy’s dynamic pricing works against Continente.

Follow Continente without giving away margin
When to follow Continente and when not to
Continente runs promotions often, and not all of them deserve a response. These are the most common situations and what Boardfy does in each one according to your rules.
| Situation | What Boardfy does | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Continente cuts the price of a product you sell for more | Lowers your price to just below Continente, if your margin allows | You respond only where it pays |
| Continente’s promotion would take you below your minimum margin | Stays at your minimum price | You don’t drop below your minimum margin to follow a promotion |
| Continente ends the promotion and raises its price | Raises your price again to what your rule sets | You win back the margin you had given up |
| You are more than 10% below Continente | Raises the price according to your rule | You stay cheaper and earn more margin |
| Continente doesn’t sell the product | Raises the price according to your rule | With no Continente price to match, there is no need to cut yours |
