Google Shopping France

With an online market approaching a turnover of 70 billion euros in 2016, France is a good source of opportunities for all those ecommerce that want to offer their products on Google Shopping.

As a Spanish ecommerce, the determining factor for success on this platform is proper management of shipping costs and profit margins.

Obviously, transporting the product to another country increases the shipping costs. The result is that even if you have a good item at a competitive price, the price will increase considerably when shipping costs are included. It is therefore vital to try to reduce them as much as possible to avoid falling short of the best prices.

Once these costs have been optimised, the profit margin for each product must be carefully controlled. Checking the percentage of profit we are making on each item will help us to detect those where we may be losing money.

On the other hand, it will also help us to know to what extent we can adjust our prices while maintaining a minimum profit margin. This way we will be able to make a selection of those products in which we can really be competitive and optimise the CPC (cost per click) of our Google Shopping campaigns.

It is preferable to offer a smaller but optimised catalogue than a large but loss-making one.

Fnac Portugal

Our venture into this marketplace, totally new to us, couldn’t have started any better.

We were very surprised to see the large amount of products that move in the Portuguese version of FNAC. With an average of 1 million visits per month and a seller level operation similar to Amazon, the business opportunities are clear.

During the tests carried out, the results obtained have been more than encouraging: out of a catalogue of 1000 products offered, approximately 80% have a best price position. This is mainly due to the fact that shipping costs to Portugal are quite similar to those in Spain, which avoids excessive penalties in the profit margin and maintains a good degree of competitiveness.

This high degree of competitiveness means higher margins and therefore more room for manoeuvre for efficient pricing. Remember that the higher our margin, the more we can vary our price to face the competition while maintaining a good profitability.

At Boardfy we are not standing still and we continue to work both in new marketplaces and in more countries. We don’t want any price to escape your control.
